Description
This striking Scandinavian modernist ring features a glowing round white Moonstone bezel-set within a fluid and organic solid silver frame. The bold sculptural setting encircles the gem in an asymmetric open swirl that flows around the cabochon. A distinctly Scandinavian form, likely Swedish in origin, and dated to the late 1970s based on design.
Stamped with the initials JB to the exterior of the band—a hallmarking style often seen in vintage Swedish silver. Though other marks are worn, the ring is acid tested and confirmed as solid sterling silver.
The Moonstone is round cabochon cut, 10.4mm in diameter, and exhibits a classic silvery chatoyancy, almost tiger’s eye-like, enhanced by fine needle-like inclusions within the gem. The contrast between the warm white Moonstone and the bright silver is both soothing and striking.
