This elegant vintage 9ct yellow gold ring centres on a richly coloured oval-cut rhodolite garnet, displaying deep red tones with attractive pink and raspberry secondary hues.
A traditional setting with generous claws protecting the gemstone and decorative scrollwork around the gallery. Its proportions make it an easy ring to wear, while the warm yellow gold complements the garnet beautifully.
Rhodolite garnet is prized for its brighter red-purple colouring compared with many traditional garnets. It is part of the garnet family and is especially associated with January as its birthstone month.
The ring carries full English hallmarks for 9ct gold, including the 375 fineness mark and Birmingham assay mark. The maker’s mark is R.E.M, for R. E. Morrish, a Birmingham jewellery manufacturer still trading today.
