This vintage silver ring features three vivid cobalt-blue Paste gemstones designed to imitate fine Sapphires, accented by sparkling clear Paste stones inspired by Diamonds.
Dating to the Victorian period circa 1890, the ring beautifully reflects the era’s fascination with luxurious yet wearable jewellery. It is often called Costume Luxe.
Crafted in Sterling Silver & stamped SILVER and 9CT, this ring was likely originally gold plated, with the plating naturally worn away after more than a century of wear.
Victorian jewellers frequently used high-quality Paste gemstones to recreate the brilliance of precious gems, and this example is exceptionally well made with impressive sparkle & colour saturation.
The central Oval Cut blue Paste stone measures approx. 8.6mm x 6.2mm, flanked by two matching outer stones measuring approx. 6.8mm x 4.4mm. Six small clear Paste stones add extra brilliance between the blue gems, catching the light beautifully.
