This substantial sterling silver articulated bangle has a striking geometric design inspired by the Art Deco period. Four main sections are connected by hinges, allowing the bracelet to move comfortably around the wrist while retaining the structured appearance of a cuff.
The wide silver panels are pierced with repeating square motifs, giving the bracelet a clean architectural look. At 40g, it is a particularly substantial piece, finished with an unusual push-style fastening and additional safety catch.
The bracelet is stamped 925 and carries further marks for sterling silver and the Birmingham Assay Office, together with the maker’s mark SWJ. Although there is no date letter, the supplied information places SWJ making Art Deco-style jewellery in Birmingham during the late 1980s.
