Description
This antique Victorian ring features a romantic combination of Opal, Garnet, and Quartz set in intricately detailed sterling silver. Likely made around 1900, it exemplifies the elegance and sentimentality of the late Victorian period.
At the centre is a milky white Opal measuring 7.2mm x 5.1mm, with gentle flashes of red and blue. Flanking the Opal are two oval-cut Garnets (5mm x 3.4mm) with rich, deep red tones, and four clear Quartz stones (2.7mm round cut) traditionally used as diamond alternatives. The gemstones are prong set in an ornate silver gallery adorned with floral scrollwork.
Though stamped SILVER, the hallmark is worn due to age. The craftsmanship and metal quality are consistent with solid sterling silver. The band is plain and measures 1.8mm at the rear.
There is some light wear to the Opal and Garnets from age, but no chips or cracks. The silver mount remains in excellent condition.
