Antique Victorian Ruby Brooch in 9ct Gold 1902 Sydenham Brothers – Floral
£228.00 £205.20
A stunning heavy gold Victorian brooch, complete with central natural Ruby.
Sydenham Bros were renowned Birmingham jewellers throughout the Victorian period. They are best known for floral decorations & simple good luck messages.
This brooch is different to the usual fayre, using a slab of matt satin gold, with polished gold floral scrolls. The central Ruby has been offset so that light can get behind the stone & make it sparkle.
The natural Ruby is round old cut, measuring 2.55mm in diameter. It is a nice pink purple colour.
There are a lot of hallmarks! A hallmark for Birmingham Assay Office, 375 for 9ct gold, a 9 stamp for 9ct gold, date letter C for 1902.
There are also 2 x S.Bros makers marks. They were clearly very proud of this piece!
⭐ This Victorian gold brooch weighs 3.2 grams
