A beautiful 1950s silver locket pendant by DH Phillips, best known for their intricate ballerina brooches. This pendant shows the same delicate attention to detail with a radiant starburst design studded in natural Marcasite.
Crafted in solid sterling silver & fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1957, this piece features a Lion Passant mark, date letter, and the DHP maker’s mark for DH Phillips. Its decorative face glimmers with hand-set Marcasite in varying sizes, creating a richly textured sunburst or mandala-like pattern.
The locket opens to hold two small circular photographs, approximately 17mm across. While the inner metal backing has oxidised with age, the clear plastic inserts remain intact and functional. The back has a light dent but the front is crisp, with all Marcasite stones present.
