£83.00 £74.70

Old English Antique Gold Tone Necklace Red Gem Stones

A very pretty piece of Victorian costume jewellery in Pinchbeck. This is a gold coloured alloy that was developed before gold gilding.

Pinchbeck is enduring! This pendant was likely made in the 1820’s in England – it still shines like antique gold though.

There is a bright red & white spotted ‘gemstone’ cabochon as centre point to the pendant. It is actually some kind of overlayed glass – it is very clever & gives depth to the colours.

Further, there are faux seed pearls. Again, small beads of glass covered in a white lustre. They do look convincing though.

The small round cut gemstone is actually a real natural Garnet. It is a good colour & nice & clear. It is 2mm in diameter.

There is some enamelling to the pinchbeck in places, with accents of red & white. There used to be more enamel but it has worn away. The very back level used to have more white accents.

The chain is plain link & measures 24” in length. It is likely made from brass – a nice gold colour & quite heavy. It fits the pendant perfectly

⭐ This Victorian Pinchbeck pendant weighs 2.9g

This Victorian pendant is antique & pre-owned. Its is around 200 years old. Some enamel has worn away. There is some tarnishing that could be removed. Considering age, it is in exceptional condition & ready to be loved by (another!) new owner. It is bright, cheerful & eye-catching
