A lovely vintage silver pendant with a natural teardrop orange Sunstone.
A Sunstone is a Oligoclase Feldspar – this is a natural gemstone that glitters due to inclusions containing copper. The orange glow & the gold like glitter is actually a natural occurrence.
Sunstones are mined in Northern Europe, especially Norway.
This lovely natural gemstone has been polished to a smooth teardrop shape. It catches the light from all angles & just sparkles.
The Sunstone in this pendant has a very dense array of exclusions & the colour is exceptional. It is very good quality – we expect it is around 50 years old.
