£490.00 £441.00
Oh what a ring! A very large oval cut natural Blue Sapphire set in scroll laden 9ct gold.
The clear gemstones in this ring are natural Zircon. Not to be confused with CZ (invented after this ring was hallmarked), these gemstones were often used a diamond replacements. They give off more ‘fire’ that natural diamonds & cost less when you need a big clear gemstone.
The natural Blue Sapphire in this ring measures 7.1mm long x 5.7mm wide x 3.7mm deep.
This is approximately 1.2 carats in weight.
The Sapphire is medium dark with a hue of violetish blue (vB). It is slightly over saturated without being opaque.
There are 6 brilliant round cut Zircon at 2mm in diameter, with 2 larger oval cut measuring 8mm long x 5.8mm wide.
This ring has a full set of English hallmarks: Leopards Head for London Assay office, English crown Passant, Date letter P for 1970.
There is an unknown makers hallmark of ‘AGLD’
