This traditional Scottish hardstone brooch features a large, faceted purple glass paste stone anchored centrally, framed by a vibrant inlay of assorted natural agates, bloodstone, and chalcedony.
The design takes inspiration from classic Scottish Highland pebble jewelry. Engraved fan motifs line the scalloped outer silver border, accentuating the rich, earthy tones of the surrounding agate segment inlays.
Weighing a substantial 11.1g, this heavy sterling silver piece displays solid mid-century craftsmanship. It is stamped SILVER and SCOTLAND on the reverse, dating to around the 1950s.
Measuring 37mm long by 31mm wide with a 15.3mm projection, it has a bold profile on lapels or scarves. The sturdy pin mechanism ensures security for regular wear.
